About Me

Hailing from Asheboro, NC, at age 12 Billy knew he wanted to play guitar after watching a televised concert of th rock band ‘The Smashing Pumpkins’ performing their song “1979.” Shortly after receiving his first electric guitar, Billy began terrorizing family and friends with his musical endeavors not knowing that playing and creating music would be a lifelong passion.

Shortly after, Billy taught himself the electric guitar and how to read classical music. He won his first competition at the age of 15, playing his own composition. At the age of 16, he started playing the bar scene of rock, country, and bluegrass featuring his own compositions. At The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, his formal studies of classical guitar, composition and jazz began. He continued his studies and completed his Masters of Music at The Boston Conservatory. He has taken master classes with Adam Holzman, Alvaro Pierre and Jason Veaux.

Billy has been featured in magazines, newspapers and on the radio, both locally and internationally. Previous performances have included events for members of the United Nations, Museum of Freedom, Musical Theatre Guild, Charlotte Choral Society, and the Boston Classical Guitar Society.

Billy keeps a full studio and regularly performs in the community in NYC.

His hobbies are photography, video games, and enjoying time with his friends and family.
